How To

Rats love it when you gently stroke the side of their face. Go from below their mouth to behind their ear with your finger tip. Start slowly, then speed up a bit and watch how the rat reacts to see what it prefers. If you do it correctly, the rat will respond by closing its eyes, and tilting its head to make the side of its face more accessible to you. You can also pet the rat’s entire body as in the video. A good time to try this is when the rat is sitting still and relaxed. For example, Bao bao is eating a nut, so he’s in a good mood and not running around: that’s the perfect time to try to pet him! By the way, Bao Bao means “Baby“ in Chinese. He really is my little fur baby. #Shorts
