Lifer - Down - Guitar Cover and Tab [Instrumental]

A cover of Lifer by Down of their first album NOLA. Tuning: C# standard [C# F# B E G# C#} Time to have a bit of a break from the metal and go for something a bit more groovy. I’ve listened to Down for years but haven’t really ever learnt their songs so it felt like a good time to rectify that! The song is pretty straight forward. The riffs are fairly simply but a lot of the essence of the song is in all the micro bends on notes throughout that give it that southern flavour. The solo I wouldn’t learn strictly and much more feel it - adding and removing notes and having fun with it. In the same way the little licks between riffs are often changed up live. There’s a video lesson of Pepper showing how to play lifer and he doesn’t play what’s on the record. So have fun with it!
