45 Ships in Action: Great Lakes Big Steel

Following the 2021 shipping season on the Great Lakes, I wanted to make another compilation showing the highlights from the videos I captured in the Duluth, Superior, and Two Harbors area. This video is the result of those efforts. The footage selected here is meant to represent the widest variety of lake carriers seen in a range of conditions... day and night, summer and winter, calm and stormy. For each ship, I included data on the date it was launched, it overall length, the cargo carrying capacity, the type of engines, and the overall horsepower of all engines combined. All stats were obtained from the annual Know Your Ships book, published annually. Since this video is over 107 minutes in length, I realize not everyone will want to sit through it all... at least not in one sitting.
