Item title reads - A Pioneer of Heroism. Rt. Hon. F.E. Guest, ., M.P. unveils “Daily Express“ Memorial to Captain Leefe Robinson, V.C. who destroyed the Zeppelin, L-21. Cuffley. We see F.E. Guest pulling a Union Jack flag off the memorial to Captain Leefe Robinson, he then places a large wreath on it. M/S of the stone memorial with its inscription, it has a square base and round tower. L/S of the memorial surrounded by people. Note from member of the public says: In fact he shot down the Schutte-Lanz SL11. On the night of 2/3 September 1916 over Cuffley, Hertfordshire, Lieutenant Robinson, flying a converted night fighter, sighted a German airship, one of 16 which had left bases in Germany on a mass raid over England. The airship was actually the wooden-framed Schutte Lanz SL 11, although at the time and for many years after, it was misidentified as Zeppelin L 21.
