Europe’s New Mussolini (1926)

Warsaw, Poland. Title: “Europe’s New Mussolini. Marshal Pilsudski - Poland’s new Dictator - reviews his troops after the revolution“. Panning shot follows Pilsudski as he marches across a wide cobbled square with some of his more high ranking officers. The dictator salutes to someone off camera. M/S of Pilsudski and officers taken from another angle, they are accompanied by two officers on horseback. We see that the president is saluting to crowds of people standing about the square, many in military uniform. High angled shot of Pilsudski and the officers stepping up onto a platform, good C/U of the dictator as he passes the camera. C/U of Pilsudski sitting on a throne-like chair on the platform, the officers stand in a row behind him. Note: old records spell dictator’s name Ipilsudski - other sources suggest this is incorrect and the title cards are right in spelling it Pilsudski. AH 2000. FILM ID:500.1 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
