Straight Or Curly (1930)

“Why do some women have straight hair and others curls?“ asks an intertitle. C/U of the back of a woman’s head. She has straight shoulder length hair. She turns her head and looks over her shoulder at the camera. We then see hair being combed. It looks like the back of a woman’s head but suddenly the head is thrown back and we see that the woman was leaning forward and brushing her hair downwards. She leans back and fluffs up her curly hair. “Scientists have found out the secret - in the laboratory.“ C/U of a scientist type looking through a microscope. A straight hair is placed between two glass plates and then put under the microscope. C/U of this process. We see the enlarged hair under the microscope. Under high power we are able to see the six layers that make up the hair, and also the shape of the root.
