Indo-China (Indochina), Vietnam. Title: “New Governor-General. Arrival and reception by Native Notables at Saigon“. L/S of a wide river taken from the end of a jetty, a long wooden boat coming into moor. Panning shot of a group of oriental men in elegant embroidered coats and sashes. M/S of people getting off the moored boat and walking along the jetty; the group of mainly western looking officials, all the men wear military uniforms and safari helmets. Panning shot follows the group as they walk under a marquee and pass a battalion of troops. C/U of two men with magnificent beards and safari helmets - presumably one is the governor general. M/S of the two men in the back of a convertible car driving away. L/S of the car driving up a wide crowd lined street, the car is followed by a battalion of troops of horseback, it appears to be raining very heavily.
