Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Intertitle: “Earl Beatty ’Steel City’ honours famous Admiral“. First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, Earl Beatty is honoured by the citzens of Sheffield. M/S of a chauffeur driven car pulling up to the curb, a row of naval officers on the pavement stand to attention. Earl Beatty steps out of the car and shakes hands with the mayor, who is accompanied by his wife and two men in ceremonial robes. C/U of the Earl talking to the naval officers on the pavement. M/S of a car stopping outside a wooden hut, a man in military uniform comes out and uses a hose to fill the petrol tank of the car. Behind the car is a motorbike with a side car, the uniformed man also fills their tank. M/S of a large van / car filled with people, the tank is filled, as the car drives off the people wave.
