Full title reads: “Trapped in the ice. Over 100 big vessels caught in the Great Lakes in sudden Arctic blizzard“. Michigan, United States of America (USA). Various L/Ss of gigantic cargo ships trapped by ice of frozen lake. Many still have smoke pouring from their funnels. Shots appear to have been taken from smaller vessel sailing in narrow channel of water between ice (some shots a bit shaky). M/S of small steam powered tug boat ploughing through slushy ice. Point of view shot looking over edge of boat of ice and channel of water. M/S of tug boat ploughing towards trapped ship. Point of view shot from deck of tug, looking up towards bow of ship. Intertitle reads: “Rescue tugs worked night and day loading supplies for 2000 men marooned on the ships“.
