Full title reads: “French women’s cycling championship. First and second sprint home after gruelling race around Paris“. France. M/S of four women in skimpy cycling shorts sitting or leaning against racing bicycles. C/U of girl sitting on bike. C/U of another woman cyclist; she wears a hair net and has the Olympic circles on her top. Various L/Ss of crowd of women cyclists racing around wide, tree-lined roads. L/S of cyclists reaching the end of the race, crowd of (mainly men) cheer from roadside. Two women reach finishing line almost simultaneously. C/U of two women cyclists holding large bouquets and surrounded by crowd of well-wishers. Neither woman looks very happy. One women says something, the other turns to her and appears to shout something angrily. A man puts his hand on her shoulder to restrain her. Maybe there was a controversial decision about who won!
