Shells - And Shells - And Shells. Seaside Variety (1933)
“Going to the Seaside? Try collecting shells“ C/U of a huge shell held in a man’s arms. It is a clam shell I think. M/S of shelves containing bottles of shells. “When you get them home, they’ll keep you busy for hours - making them up into novel and useful articles for the home.“ C/U of a man making something from a sea urchin shell. He is smoking a pipe as he works. C/U of his objets d’art which has a starfish, sea horses and shells stuck around a base. It is quite groovy! C/U of him sticking two shells together then sticking a sea horse onto the side.
“If you’re more particular, get them electro-plated.“ M/S of a man dipping a shell into a bath of liquid for electroplating. “Just glance at these - and only shells!“ C/U of a dish and a spoon made from shells. Various other items made from shells are presented to the camera including a nice pot with a lid made from sea urchins. Tiny little shell bowls are shown. The last item shown is a large shiny shell bowl with feet made of other shells
