Women Footballers (1920)

Preston, Lancashire? A team of young women come out of the dressing rooms on to the pitch, they wear stripy shirts and caps, one of them playfully kicks a ball. The terraces are packed, mainly with men. M/S of the opposing team, women in white shirts march onto the pitch - they seem more regimented than the first team. Panning shot of the white shirted team, lined up on the pitch. They wear black berets and smile at the camera. Good M/Ss of the game in progress - the girls race about the pitch, we see some pretty rough tackling. Note: this story relates closely to another story - THE VICTORY SMILE - in G 667. A French girl’s football team conclude’s their tour beating England in their last game. Note: as there is no intertitle the exact location is unknown - Preston, Lancashire is the location given in an old record.
