Please pray for the Des Moines police officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning. Iowa: A Des Moines police officer is “critically injured“ following an exchange of gunfire Tuesday morning, the department said. Police say they followed the suspect until the car came to a stop on E. Army Post Road. Just moments later, officers say the suspect began shooting, hitting an officer in the chest. The suspect was shot by officers and died at the scene. The officer, who has been with the department for four years, was taken to a local hospital.
