WARNING GRAPHIC! The Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting that occurred in Foothill Division. On June 11, 2024, at around 8:50 p.m., Foothill Area uniformed Gang Enforcement Detail officers were patrolling in the area of Lehigh Avenue and Carl Street, when they observed a dark colored sedan travelling at a high rate of speed. The officers followed the vehicle a short distance with the intent on conducting a traffic stop. Moments later, the driver abruptly pulled over and the front passenger, later identified as 21-year-old Alexander Aguilar-Larios, exited armed with a handgun and began running through a housing development. The officers broadcast they were in foot pursuit as they chased Aguilar-Larios, who eventually stumbled to the ground while holding a handgun in his right hand. As Aguilar-Larios stood up to continuing fleeing, an Officer Involved Shooting occurred. Source: Police frequency
