Air Combat in The Hundred Hour War, Part 2 (. The Soccer War) - El Salvador vs Honduras 1969

This is part two of our video in which we discuss air combat from a short war that broke out between two Central American nations, El Salvador and Honduras. It is often known as ’The Soccer War’ or ’The Football War’, suggesting that matches played between those countries were the main cause of the conflict. This is quite inaccurate and superficial and the reason is explained in the first video. For aviation enthusiasts, the most interesting fact about the war is that this was the last time that piston-engine fighters fought each other and shot each other down. In part two, we will examine air victories number two and three and the role of American mercenary pilots in this conflict.
