Hymn tune: FINALNDIA, from Jean Sibelius’ (1865 - 1957) symphonic poem Finlandia.
Text: Original German text (“Stille meine Wille, dein Jesus hilft siegen“) written by Katharina von Schlegel (1697 - 1768) in 1752. Translated into English in 1855 by Jane Laurie Borthwick (1813 - 1897).
This hymn was sung at The Grenfell Tower National Memorial Service on 14 December 2017 at St Paul’s Cathedral, to mark the 6 month anniversary of the Grenfell Tower Fire.
