Fire Rages on Kilimanjaro, Africa’s Highest Mountain

Firefighters in Tanzania have been battling to contain a blaze on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. It broke out Sunday, October 11. An official from the National Parks service said, Tuesday, October 13, that the fire is still burning. He added that firefighters, government institutions and locals are continuing with efforts to contain it. No more details were provided. Kilimanjaro rises to nearly 6,000 meters above sea level.
