The parable of ’The Talents’ a rich man gives talents to his slaves. He leaves five talents with one, two talents with another, and one with the third. The one with five talents invests this money and gets five more talents. Similarly, the second slave gains more talents. But the third, scared of risking his master’s money, hides his talent. When the master returns, he punishes the third slave. Esther and John are siblings who are trying to flee from war torn Syria. Joshua, their cousin, is also traveling with them.
