Olympic Boxing Controversy: Sex Testing “Protects Women Getting Seven Bells Knocked Out Of Them!“

An Algerian team-mate of Imane Khelif gate-crashed a chaotic International Boxing Association press conference, labelling the treatment of the boxer at the centre of a gender row “disgusting”. Welterweight Khelif and Chinese Taipei featherweight Lin Yu-ting were disqualified by the IBA during last year’s World Championships for failing to meet gender eligibility criteria. However, financial and corruption concerns led to the IBA being expelled last year by the International Olympic Committee, which is instead administering the boxing programme and has allowed Khelif and Lin to compete at Paris 2024 as it has different gender eligibility criteria.
