PART 1: Stgw. 90 (SIG SG 541/550) Swiss Army 2001 Training Film (with EN subtitles)

Small arms training in the Swiss Army was significantly revamped starting 1997, with the introduction of the “Neue Gefechtsschiesstechnik / “Nouvelle technique de tir au combat“). Spearheaded by Army officer Alain Baeriswyl and many others, and inspired by the efforts of influential trainers like Chuck Taylor, the idea was to create a new school of standardized, rationalized doctrine for arms handling. Thanks to the NGST/NTTC program, safety and efficiency were drastically increased, and continues to be applied and improved on today. This video series on the Sturmgewehr 90, dated 2001, is one of the earlier NGST/NTTC training material in video form. Viewers that have served recently can note that many practices shown in the film have been modified or outright deleted. Part 1 shows the “level 1“ training that is taught to most militiamen equipped with the M90 assault rifle. 0:00 Introduction 0:56 Safety principles 2:54 Basic handling 7:04 Elimination of malfunctions 9:46 Combat handling 11:03 Firing positions 14:04 Types of fire 15:45 Firing range procedures 21:28 Conclusion Source: ZEM, CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 CH Subtitles by Dale DING, 2022
