The U.S. Defense Department has acknowledged that Russia is making incremental gains in Ukraine’s Donbass region. A spokesperson, Major General Pat Ryder, noted that while Russia is capturing villages in Donetsk, he declined to estimate how long it would take for Russian forces to reach the strategic logistics hub of Pokrovsk.
