Fretless Funk Thumb & Fingerstyle Bass with Trills

Funky good times on my Cortex bass with a fretless take on my song Trill Seekers. Trills are really fun to play, love it to spice things up when playing funk & staccato thumb/finger plucking. I’m playing a custom fretless Cortex bass from Switzerland with flamed maple, walnut and spalted maple woods. Cheers to Pierre Camilleri, the man behind Cortex and to luthier Paul Lairat for his excellent craftsmanship, best fretless I’ve played. The bass is strung up with Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, the pickup is a Nordstrand Dual Coil, with 2 band eq & parallel wiring. I’m using a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor, a Rodenberg 707b booster and a Walrus Audio D1 delay, the signal was recorded straight into my Focusrite audio interface. Drums are made with Korg midi pads & Addictive Drums, mixing was done in Cubase. Working on lots more :) Thanks for watching!
