What If Lee Relieved Vicksburg Wargame

Today on Little Wars TV, we play an operational wargame to help answer one of the greatest “what ifs“ of the American Civil War. What if Robert E. Lee agreed to ship two of Longstreet’s divisions west in May 1863? Lee was asked to do so but refused the near-unanimous advice of the Confederate war cabinet. Three players in our game will explore what might have happened if Lee sent Longstreet to Mississippi to lift the siege of Vicksburg. Could two veteran divisions from the east have made the difference and saved Vicksburg from Grant’s encirclement?
