How Hogwarts Legacy COPIED John Williams Wizardry… and it’s Brilliant.

Hogwarts Legacy Music uses John Williams own spell. i min to II Dom 7 with a b6 5 #4 motion, also Tritone chords. (I promise it’s not boring ;) I created a whole video on Ukrainian Dorian aka Romanian Minor scale and the two chord progression of i minor II Dom 7 that normally happens. But I kept seeing b6 5 #4 in especially John Williams soundtracks. I compiled a list and when a friend recommended I check out Hogwarts Legacy the first thing I heard was that very same motion. That moment set into motion this video in early Feb 2023. I came up with the name, the thumbnail, the script, filmed, edited, and created my intro… only to see Charles Cornell, one of my favorite YouTubers, post an extremely similar topic with an almost identical name. I promise I didn’t base it on that, still a fan Charles ;) I compare the original theme to the new version a little, but focus primarily on that b6 5 #4 over a i minor II Dom 7 chord progression. It’s more common than you would think. Lots of Neapolitans, German Aug 7s also happen a lot but aren’t featured in this video, and the b6 5 #4 happens a ton.
