Yagyu Shinkage-ryu Heiho Kenjutsu - 42nd Japanese Kobudo Demonstration (2019)

Yagyu Koichi Sensei and his students demonstrating Yagyu Shinkage-ryu Kenjutsu during the 42nd Nihon Kobudo Embutaikai held at the Nippon Budokan on February 3rd, 2019. The event also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai. Yagyu Shinkage-ryu (literally “School of the New Shadow“) is one of the oldest Japanese fencing schools of kenjutsu. Its main founder is Kamiizumi Nobutsuna. In 1565, Nobutsuna left the school to his greatest pupil, Yagyu Munetoshi, who added his own name to the school.
