One of the most iconic uniforms of women personnel of the U.S. Army in World War II. Introduced in 1943, this uniform was issued to all Army nurses, physical therapy aides, hospital dietitians and officers of the Women’s Army Corps serving in the continental United States and overseas. ↓↓↓
In this video, we’ll take a look at how the Olive Drab Service Uniform was worn, beginning with underwear and moving on to accessories and outer garments. We’ll also briefly explain the rules on hairstyles, makeup and jewelry that were authorized by the Army to be worn with this type of uniform in the 1940s.
