Paul Whiteman: His Music And Memories - WPBS Philadelphia 1967
Ed Milian (sp?) narrates a two-hour musical tribute to the late Paul Whiteman shortly after his death in 1967. Sprinkled into the show are excerpts from an interview recorded about a year prior in which he reminisces about his 50 year career as a bandleader and performer, including the recording of Rhapsody in Blue with George Gershwin and many of his most notable musicians: Bix Beiderbecke, the Dorsey Brothers, Joe Venuti, Eddie Lang, Bing Crosby, Mike Pingatore, Henry Busse , and more.
From the collection of John Bittence.
