No more tricks or overdubs, just pure rock’n’roll in the London sky… “Get Back“ was supposed to be the title of the album that would represent a “ritorno” to the origins for the Beatles. “No tricks”. It was meant to recapture their rock imprint and the live approach that had characterized the early years of their career. In that regard, keyboardist Billy Preston was added to the group. This was partly to avoid future overdubs, but also to try to break the growing tension among the four Beatles during that period. The project was later abandoned and eventually resurrected and released under the name “Let It Be“, after the Beatles had already disbanded.
