Russia’s Wagner Drama Ends As Prigozhin Calls Off Moscow March, Ukraine Reclaims Donetsk City

Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has reportedly said his mercenaries are “turning around their columns“. This comes after Belarus announced that Prigozhin has accepted President Lukashenko’s proposal to stop Wagner movement and “de-escalate tensions”. Russian state media RIA Novosti reported Russian President Putin had asked Lukashenko to mediate with Prigozhin. Meanwhile, local media claimed Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s forces had reached Rostov after offering to help put down the Wagner mutiny. President Zelensky said the world saw that Putin “does not control anything” as Russia descended into “complete chaos”. Zelensky reiterated Putin was a global danger, saying “the longer this person is in the Kremlin, the more disasters there will be”. The Ukrainian military’s Tavria group claims to have liberated territory near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast.
