During apartheid, segregation was the order of the day but not for a young man who was keen on defying the law. DJ Christos blazed the township house scene when it was illegal to do so. His passion for music made him a regular in the Township nightlife as he dished out music for partygoers.
He has produced timeless music with Kalawa Jazzme, creating a revolution of a unique urban sound that took over South Africa by storm!
Today the boy who defied the odds is a legend who just keeps on reinventing himself but also staying loyal to his niche. A chunk of South African music particularly urban black music was defined during Christos era, in a time where black & white were not allowed to mix.
The youth of today walks on the path created by the youth of yesteryear. Do what you love and do it with greatness!
