Lavrov at the United Nations Security Council on the Middle East on the Palestinian question: So far our Council has been unable

Lavrov at the United Nations Security Council on the Middle East on the Palestinian question: So far our Council has been unable to give an adequate response to this truly momentous challenge. The reason is well known - it lies in the position of the United States, which is blocking all efforts and initiatives to stop the bloodshed in the occupied territories. It is astonishing to see the disingenuousness of American diplomacy, from vetoing ceasefire resolutions to calling for a “de-intensification“ of the fighting in Gaza. Clearly, this gives carte blanche to continue the collective punishment of the Palestinians. The humanitarian consequences of this policy are terrible. Nearly 30,000 civilians have died, including a huge number of women and children. The north of Gaza is almost completely destroyed and uninhabitable. 80% of the Strip’s entire population is internally displaced. A true human tragedy with no end in sight. Источник: Slavyangrad
