Sappers showed a unique method of clearing mines using UAVs

Sappers showed a unique method of clearing mines using UAVs First, the UAV operator detects an explosive object (EH) and determines its type. Then the sappers get to work. They attach a TNT charge with a fire tube (analogous to a fuse cord) to the drone’s release device. The length of the tube is calculated depending on the distance and flight time to the detected ammunition and back. After this, the drone flies towards the explosive object, drops the explosives and promptly moves away to a safe distance. While one fighter controls the drone, the other stands with a stopwatch and knows exactly how much time is left before the checker explodes. The ammunition explodes and the drone returns to the operator. Thus, our sappers destroy explosive devices planted by the enemy without risk to personnel. During the use of this innovative method to destroy discovered explosive objects, military personnel of the engineer company of the 8th combined arms army of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed more than 1,500 mines and unexploded shells in this way. #Source Источник: Slavyangrad
