When most people hear “elves” they think of Lord of the Rings. However, Tolkien actually borrowed from Nordic mythology for his interpretation of the elves in Middle Earth. Light Elves (Ljósálfar) in Norse literature are often described as beautiful, luminous creatures with pale skin and hair. They had unknown magical powers and were considered gods or demi-gods. We wanted to create a mythical and dream-like tale with our own spin on the concept of Light Elves. We wondered what part music and song might have had in their realm and how that music and the legend of these creatures might have trickled to the realm of humans. Our original song is our own imaginative story and we hope it brings you to an ethereal and serene place with waterfalls and Elven-calls. Everything that you hear in the video is just our harps and our voices – exactly like we can perform it live with no overlays or backing tracks. We are incredibly excited to share this original song with all of you.
