Ukraine’s counteroffensive: Kyiv claims new gains in territorial battles

Ukrainian military says its troops have regained control of seven villages, two days after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed a counter-offensive against Russia had begun. Fighting is centred around the Russian-controlled city of Bakhmut, and further south. Moscow has not officially acknowledged any Ukrainian advances.
