ABC TV | How To Make Veronica Paper Flower With Shape Punch - Craft Tutorial

Veronica (bird’s eye, and gypsyweed), which is more commonly known as a ”speedwell” because it was often found along roadsides and was said that the masses of these pretty flowers were there to “speed you well”. In Ireland, a bit of the plant was pinned on the clothing to keep travelers from accidents. The origin of the name veronica dates back to the time when Jesus Christ was alive and there is a good bit of storytelling behind that. Veronica is the largest genus in the flowering plant family Plantaginaceae, with about 500 species; it was formerly classified in the family Scrophulariaceae. The majority of these species are native to the milder areas of the Northern Hemisphere.
