This is version of “Drinking Again” is from the 1967 Frank Sinatra studio album “The World We Knew”. The 1962 torch song was written by Johnny Mercer and Doris Tauber. Other great versions of the song include Dinah Washington and Aretha Franklin. The film ”La Dolce Vita” stars Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg in a story about a romp through the “sweet life“ of Rome. Anita Ekberg plays the part of the unattainable, sensuous, voluptuous Sylvia. Swedish bombshell Ekberg was crowned Miss Sweden in the 1950s and lived and worked in Italy for many years. Ekberg starred with Frank Sinatra in the 1963 comedy “4 For Texas”. I think it is sad that when she was 80 it was reported that she was “destitute“.
