Beatport: Soundlimit aka Belgian artist Iwan Cornet debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb ‘Darkest Cloud’. At a very young age Iwan discovered that music had a big influence on him and by the age of 15 he got into DJing thanks to encouragement from his friends, and since then, DJing runs in his blood. For his 16th birthday he got himself a nice DJ setup and started to experiment with sounds and styles. In the late 90’s it was all about the harder styles and it was then that he discovered he had a thing for underground music and deeper sounds. A few years later he was a regular at vinyl shops where he discovered a genre called Techno, his baby steps in electronic music. Over the years his style has changed but he is always looking for a melodic and happy vibe. Always up for a party you can expect a blend of Deep House, Tech House, Techno, Minimal and everything in between as he explores the wonders of sound. The release opens with the title track ‘Darkest Cloud’ which conveys a solid progressive groove right from the off. A warm, plucky bassline sits on a bed of rhythmic drums percussions accented by strategic FX. The track oozes charm and elegance with polished arps and strong melodic sequences dominating throughout. A superb slice that will not disappoint. ‘Electric Storm’ concludes the release, introing with chunky beats and more of that warm, hypnotic bass sound from its predecessor. The groove is inviting with colourful and emotive qualities that manifest in an array of arps and striking synths.
