His songwriting has a simplicity and an honesty that is extremely admirable, while at the same time there is so much soul and depth to what he sings and writes. His hits are numerous, including chart topping “Lean On Me“ and other smash singles like “Ain’t No Sunshine“ and “Just the Two of Us.“ My favorite of his songs is “Use Me“ because of the unbelievable groove that gets created as soon as the first note hits and never ceases. I wanted to perform “Use Me“ one man band style and replicate that groove without any other musicians. This song is extremely raw (to quote my previous blog on words that are overused by musicians), so I wanted to record it that way. I set up the camera in my basement studio and took the first pas
