UCLA Campus standoff: Police attempt to disperse anti-war solidarity encampment

US police in riot gear have been deployed at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus to clear a pro-Palestine encampment. There was a partial withdrawal from police after a stand-off that lasted several hours. But a large number of officers has been brought in and demonstrators remain surrounded. The police are dismantling the wooden barriers composed of plywood and wooden pallets, tossing the debris aside. Despite the chaos and continuous flashbang explosions, a Palestinian flag continues to wave. The police have successfully breached the encampment and are making arrests, with a steady stream of people being taken away.
