The Road to Kuweires

After ISIS forces took control of Tell Na’am on August 10 2015, the Syrian Armed Forces laucnhed an offensive to form a bulge with the ultimate goal of lifting the siege of the Kuweires Airbase. ISIS however did not yeld much territory and countered the Syrian Arab Army from time to time resulting in a back and forth battle. With the arrival of the Tiger Forces and Russian airsupport in early October, a new offensive was launched on October 2, 2015. Again ISIS forces able to counter much of the Syrian Army’s gains and even attacked Safira, but the superior firepower ultimatly overwhelmed the Islamist extermists and the siege of the Kuweires Airbase was lifted on November 10, 2015.
