4K -- EXTRA HOT STUFF -- Barbara Dennerlein, Dennis Chambers, Andy Sheppard, Mitch Watkins

On May 14, 2006 I uploaded the first video clip of Barbara Dennerlein on YouTube. This was before Google acquired YouTube, and at that time the maximum resolution one could upload was only 360/240, there was also a small size limit, and a 10 minute time limit. Thus there was no way to upload the entire clip, so I made the decision to focus on Barbara’s 5 minute solo. She was very well known in German speaking countries, but my goal was to increase her visibility worldwide. Ironically, I got the original clip on a DVD from a tape trader who lived in Argentina -- I suspect it was a third generation copy of a VHS cassette. Nevertheless, that very low quality clip got a million views in three years, and opened the flood gates of people sharing videos of Barbara Dennerlein.
