Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Woodstock - 45 RPM Original Mono Mix

Original Atlantic Records #2723 Debut 3/28/1970 and peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The hole drilled in the record label indicates that this is a “cutout“, which means that the original record store returned it to it’s record distributor for sales credit, as it was unsold. These new and unsold records were not destroyed, but were marked by drilling holes in the label (or in the case of LP’s - had a corner cut off the jacket). This was done to prevent the record from being resold at full price. Very often “cutout“ records were packaged in groups of three and put into a sealed bag, then sent to thrift dept stores (such as Grants, Woolworth, etc.) where they were sold for about $1 for three records. The catch was that you didn’t know what 2 of the records were, as they were sealed in the bag behind the record on top.
