Created on May 26, 2012 using FlipShare. Henna paste (or ’Mehndi’) is made from the ground up leaves of the henna plant ’Lawsonia Inermis’, mixed with lemon juice and essential oil. In this video, I am applying the paste with a cone, similar to an icing cone. The paste dries, and then begins to flake off revealing the design as a bright orange stain on the skin. This neon colour gradually deepens to a beautiful mahogany brown colour over the next two days and lasts around 1 - 3 weeks. Henna is a beautiful
