Finishing a Massive Claro Walnut Slab Table Live Edge
Visit for ordering info.
I typically watch the transformation of a piece of wood to a finished product alone, but I decided to share with all of you the beauty of this process.
Finishing a Claro Walnut Live Edge Dining Table with Sam Maloof oil. Be sure to fill the pores of the tabletop as shown, using a 400 grit sheet on a random orbital sander. Then, buff the wood with a clean rag, followed by a second and final buffing with a new rag.
Sanding the finish into the wood need only be done one time, the following coats can simply be rubbed on and rubbed off. Be sure that there is no finish left on the wood surface as it will become tacky and require a refinishing of the entire surface.
Enjoy!
