Election commission head slams local official over polling station camera interference in Pyatigorsk

The Chairperson of Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova called for the dismissal of the chairman of the Territorial Election Commission in the Stavropol Region, where a polling station surveillance camera was covered with a mop and rags, at a press conference in Moscow on Sunday. Video from a polling station in Pyatigorsk was shown at the CEC meeting. The footage shows how a cleaner obscures one surveillance camera with a mop, while the employees of the polling station carried out some manipulation with the ballot boxes.
