LIVE: Anti-lockdown protesters gather in London as government considers delaying the end of lockdown

Anti-lockdown protesters are gathering in London on Monday, June 14 as the government is expected to make an announcement on whether to proceed with the final phase of lockdown easing in England following reports on it considering to delay it. June 21 was set as the earliest date to bring in ’stage four’ of the COVID-related unlocking process when pubs, clubs, theatres and cinemas would be allowed to operate without capacity limits, nightclubs could reopen and restrictions on social gatherings would be lifted. However, British PM Boris Johnson indicated last week he would be cautious in lifting coronavirus restrictions as it is still unclear how protected the population would be against a new surge of COVID-19 cases as well as the spread of the new Delta virus variant.
