On March 31st, Sam Blake gave a fascinating webinar for Macquarie University about the major part he played in breaking the infamous 340-character cipher of the Zodiac Killer. In this video, you will learn about his mathematical and scientific approach to the codebreaking problem and how he used software tools such as Mathematica to pursue his ideas. Solving such difficult problems requires using “science as a candle in the dark“, as Carl Sagan might say.
