Rhyme Poetic Mafia HipHopSlam ’93 freestyle w. DJ Pam the Funkstress

HipHopSlam TV ’93 crew DJ the late great DJ Pam the Funkstress cutting up Casual’s then current “That’s How It Is“ single’s memorable put-down lyrics (“You’re wack and it’s all your fault“) over DJ Premier’s Jeru the Damaja’s “Come Clean“ instrumental acted as the perfect intro to LA’s Rhyme Poetic Mafia’s short but powerful freestyle. This is from the weekly Hip Hop Slam ’93 live four hour Saturday (2-6pm) show on Oakland’s Soul Beat TV that lasted up until early December 1993 when owner Chuck Johnson kicked show off the air due to “content“ guns and drugs in videos and explicit lyrics in videos and freestyles. While it lasted this show was hella fun to do for the entire HipHopSlam ’93 TV crew that included up to a dozen dedicated folks that included Dawgisht on graphics, DJs Turntable T and Pam the Funkstress, co-hosts Robin and Dee with executive producer Billy Jam.
