Bauls of Birbhum - Indian spiritual folk singers

Bauls sing songs which are either composed by themselves or by their Gurus. The songs involve deep philosophy of life expressed in extremely simple language. Bauls of yester years like Lalan Fakir, Khyapa Chand, Gour Khyapa have immortalised their compositions. They live live on the offerings made to them by people who hear their songs.
