China’s Forgotten War 05 Stateless in Shanghai

On 1945/08/15, Japan announced unconditional surrender. This marks the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan of China. However, this war can never be forgotten. When Japan attacked China in 1937, over 70,000 foreigners were living in Shanghai. People like Liliane’s family were ’stateless’ having fled persecution in Russia as Jews.
